As one who did a bit of informationsl searching, on the long ago sinking, that leads to this tragedy, therre are morre than a few, who believe the loss of the three most influential anti- Federal Reserve Stalwarts, and the loss of the ship, were intentional.
There have been old comment on the possibility that J.P. Morgan switched the naming of the Titanic, to the Olympic, the sister ship, literally identical. The reason is, that for some reason the hull conditions were poorly
done and she was a maintenance "Queen" - so in fact a twofer as it were.
So many survivors noted an explosion, not a grinding and tearing sound. One of the other factors is, that Lloyds of London insured the liners. Morgan and his boys could not lose.
