Michael Isiah Sanchez, 18, has been arrested and faces “seven felony charges in connection with the shooting, including two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder” in the deaths of Rylee Montgomery and her unborn baby, according to the Arizona Republic reporter Jose R. Gonzales.
The death of Rylee Montgomery’s unborn child is also treated as a homicide, according to Arizona law. Her family says that Miss Montgomery refused to abort, so Sanchez shot and killed her.
Carissa Planalp, a spokesperson for the Buckeye, Arizona Police Department, said another pregnant teenager and a 22-year-old woman were also wounded in the shooting.
