Investigation Launched After Mentally Ill Patients Euthanized Without Their Consent

The Dutch Public Prosecution Service has announced that it has begun investigations into four cases of euthanasia. Following on from a case last year when a doctor was reprimanded for euthanising a dementia patient without consent, these new cases are among 12 which were flagged by the monitoring committee as not being properly carried out.

About 7,000 people were euthanised by doctors in 2017, according to official records, up from 4,188 five years ago.—More…

Mississippi Senate Passes Pro-Life Bill Banning Abortions After 15 Weeks

Mississippi state Senators passed the earliest abortion ban in the country Tuesday.

State House Bill 1510 easily passed the Senate in a 35-14 vote, moving Mississippi another step closer to protecting unborn babies from abortion after 15 weeks, according to the Clarion Ledger.

The state Senate amended the bill to remove penalties for abortionists who violate the 15-week ban, the AP reports. Because of the change, the legislation must return to the state House, which passed the bill in February. Gov. Phil Bryant said he will sign it.—More….

Abortion Clinics Grind Up Remains of Aborted Babies and Flush Them in the Sewer

The undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) in 2015 were shocking to many pro-lifers, especially to those in Texas where much of the footage was obtained. We learned even more about the gruesome practices of the abortion industry: their eagerness to profit from selling body parts from aborted babies was disturbing, even for an industry that profits from ripping apart unborn babies in the womb.

Sadly, the United States Supreme Court severely limits what pro-life laws can be enacted at the state and federal level. This is due to the Court’s ruling in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which holds that judges can strike down laws if they constitute an “undue burden” to women seeking an abortion.  However, that hasn’t stopped us from trying several different approaches to promote a culture of life in Texas. One important legislative issue we have been working on in response to the CMP videos has been to require the humane disposition of aborted babies.—More…
