The Earth is not gaining or losing carbon or oxygen. The whole basis for such a program is a farce. The most efficient way to use CO2 is to grow plants and trees, not to capture and store it. If you want to store it, the efficient way is to tie it up in plastics - which is also being challenged by these unscientific and/or uninformed people.

Isn't it odd that the same people who are against oil pipelines and fracking (because oil pipelines might break and leak and injecting steam into the ground is dangerous and may cause minor earthquakes) have no problem creating dangerous pipelines that will leak a literal cloud of gas and push that gas into the ground in Illinois?

This is getting very scary, I had not heard of this one, this new agenda. There is also something being talked about in Alberta here in Canada but I have not heard exactly what it is yet but something wit carbon capture?
Thank you so much for this information, we are all so sparsely informed so decisions cannot be made in time to stop all the stupidity going on so many unhelpful, many dangerous, or deadly weird agendas.

Has an Energy Returned On Energy Invested (EROEI) engineering analysis, not an accounting gimmickry analysis, been prepared for this hair-brained project? The answer is, of course, there isn't any. Because, if there was one, it would prove how worthless this scheme is.

Completely insane . . . they want to bury the Gas that enables Plants to Grow?
We know everything about physico-chemical properties of CO2 there is to know since its discovery 200 years ago, and categorical statement can be made that the physico-chemical properties of CO2 in its pure state, including IR properties, have nothing to do with its properties as part of the mixture called air.
We know that the total emissions/reabsorption of CO2 by nature makes emissions of CO2 by burning fossil fuels totally insignificant and lost in the instrumental accuracy levels.
We know that the levels of CO2 that we live amidst in our everyday lives have nothing in common with the observed CO2 levels at MLO based at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level.
We know that all the knowledge about the physical world comes from experiments that can be validated and not from calculations that cannot be validated. And yet, everything about man-made global warming is about calculations and NOTHING about measurements.

Excellent post on all fronts, including reminding citizens that the highest office to enforce the laws is your county Sheriff - even over the Federal Government, State Government and all of their damnable agencies. Global warming is a good thing as during the last Glacial Maximum the CO2 levels were at 190 ppm, only 30 ppm when all plant life globally starves to death. The planet has turned into an icicle three times, and each were an extinction event. Warming only enhances life on this planet, as when the Dinos were chomping on treetops like broccoli the CO2 levels were close to 10,000 ppm which is what greenhouses pump in for fertilizer and nuclear subs also mange CO2 levels at 10,000. As the post noted, the current CO2 level is putting the global plant life on a starvation level. There has been no darn sea level rise in 20 years and the earth has actually greened by 18% over the past 30 years due to slight uptick in atmospheric CO2. Humans are living in the best geological period in over 1 billion years, yet like petulant, ignorant children, some just can't stand that reality and desire to live in their fictional reality.
