This research paper is critical to removing constitutional protection for foreign belief systems and ideologies that have taken root in America and pose a significant threat to the safety, security, and sovereignty of the nation. It presents a comprehensive constitutional, historical, and biblical challenge to the current expansive interpretation of the word “religion” under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Drawing on the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, the Declaration of Independence, the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, the Northwest Ordinance, and the Christian foundations of the American Republic, the report demonstrates that:

  • The modern, broad, and purportedly neutral definition of “religion” used by U.S.A. courts is a post-biblical, 16th–19th century Western construct that did not exist in Scripture or at the time of America’s founding.
  • The First Amendment was intended to protect the free exercise of the Christian faith and to keep the federal government out of the business of the church—not to provide constitutional protection for the worship of false gods, foreign ideologies, or the construction and display of idols.
