What is a program/app?
It's a bunch of instructions to a machine. The fancy word is algorithms. It's just a set of commands in a certain order, just like a recipe to bake a cake.
What is machine learning?
The novelty of such instructions is that they are now more flexible and allow us to search for patterns or answers. Decades ago, we had expert systems.
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
It's a fancy name for flexible instructions to find logical patterns. The machine does no more and no less than what the programmer ordered.

This is interesting. Helps with some terminology. AI scares the liver out of me, and I'm surprised that Christians who KNOW it is evil still use it in their phones, their homes, and in appliances and smart everythings. I want to go back to pencils and paper.

I am curious to hear how pre-training evidently led ChatGPT to becoming rather leftist in its "opinions" - ask it to write a poem about Joe Biden and it waxes elegantly, ask it for a poem about Donald Trump and it claims it cannot write poetry for individuals. Similar results were had when it was asked to write a poem about how great white people are (it "could not"); but it certainly could wax poetic about how great black people are. Just saying - it seems to me that it is important to understand that there are biases, and the more people fawn over this A.I. the more duped they will become.
