NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that Texas and Louisiana can enforce their ban on Medicaid funding of Planned Parenthood. While the ruling expressly reversed decisions in Texas and Louisiana, it also affects Mississippi, which is under Fifth Circuit jurisdiction.
This decision was possible because President Donald Trump named a new judge to the federal appellate court who broke a tie in a previous ruling.
