As other Southern states, such as Texas and Florida, continue to enjoy explosive economic growth, Louisiana is suffering from the impact of misguided policies. While other states flourished during the pandemic and embraced freedom, Louisiana enforced lockdown policies and COVID mandates pushed by liberal Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards and liberal Mayors such as LaToya Cantrell of New Orleans. These measures were imposed in the name of “public safety,” but were counterproductive. These actions caused Louisiana to lose jobs and businesses to neighboring states. The resulting damage especially harmed our tourist industry, one of the few remaining pillars of our weak economy

Kudos to the author, Jeff Crouere, for correctly referring to the Louisiana governor as Democrat Bel Edwards, not Democratic Bel Edwards. Most people misuse the word "Democratic" in describing Democrats. Democrats who destroy American cities and States don't have a "Democratic" bone in their body.

Europeans have a strange, twisted view of how things are in the US, because of Media sources of course what else!
In our opinion New Orleans started hitting the skids is when the Democratics began destroying Legacy Heritage sculptures like a bunch of wild iconoclasts.

I do not buy anything in Louisiana. When traveling I will fill up my tank with gas before entering the state. I will buy food before entering the state, so I don't have to eat there. I do my part. Wish everyone else would. Louisiana would be a better state.

You forgot to tell everyone that sharon weston broome is every bit as bad as cantrell, neither one is worth a plugged nickel. Broome hires all black cops, also put black in positions of power, same as cantrelle. I live here, been home bound for over 2 yrs. now so I see some of this destruction and it's heartbreaking, like California being a beautiful state but got money grubbing grifters running it, same as here. I'm not sayina all black people are bad, I know some wonderful and very good black people, don't put all rotten eggs in one basket, that's not the way life should work. Just about everybody in Louisiana that does not live in new Orleans does not like New Orleans. New Orleans is a Bastion of Crime and Corruption. It takes more than it's Fair Share of Tax Money and the Dependency is only getting worse. Take New Orleans out of Louisiana and you have a much better State.
