HR8404 is another step toward taking our religious freedoms away, and it proves that Congress has no respect for the Constitution or religion.

Disrespect for Marriage Act: Attack on Religious Practices

Disrespect for Marriage Act: Attack on Religious Practices
Politicians have always used the separation of church and state argument as a means to overturn religious morality. Like everything else, the idea of separation of church and state is a deliberate misinterpretation of the First Amendment that states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." The First Amendment was written to protect religious organizations from Congress--not suppress religious morality like politicians use it.

Seems to me this is yet another effort to make the leftist tribes "feel good" - since that is what the left is all about (well, the useful idiots at leas; it's more than obvious that the real 'leaders' of the leftist movement (WEF etc) have other plans).

So pandering to the feelings of emotionally driven morons has become the order of the day. Perhaps Rubio et al figured that they will have better luck appealing to those same morons by "giving this one away", so to sweak - I don't know.

But if this bogs act of officiousness relates to word play (is there any technical difference between "civil union" and "marriage"?) then perhaps the answer is to coin a new term for male and female followers of the Abrahamic religions who want to tie the knot (to be clear - a man and a woman) - "Ultra-married"? "Actually-married"? "Joined"? Whatever, the point is to make a new term that can only be used for unions deemed proper by the church in question. Then, if the leftists demand to be able to "ultra marry" (or whatever, we will see that to them it is all about making everyone adhere to their psychosis.

Oh I agree here for sure. Not only our Religions but our morality totally. We knew they were interfering in our religions but so many for reasons like "women's rights" or "feminists" (now with no meaning, what is a woman?) were already destroying marriage? Another breakdown of our failing society and of course the now mostly not cared for children that are becoming adult toys with no feeling or thought for their futures, education or lives?

From a CFP Reader: Phil D.

If same sex marriage is codified, I think I’ll marry my horse. Why not?

To "News on the Net" (or is it Phil D. that you seem to quote?)

I'll go you one better - I plan to marry my deceased but beloved pet dog - who is also male - what could be better than homosexual bestial necrophilia? Heck, I could become a hero for the left!
