The real founders of Earth Day were not the politicians who rode the wave of environmental consciousness that swept the public in the late 60s and early 70s to establish the logistics of the organization. Nor was it the United Nations or peace and environmental activists who jumped on board the train when it became apparent that people across the world were demanding action to solve the environmental problems of the day.
No, it was the scientists, engineers and courageous astronauts who took us to the Moon. For it was as a result of their actions, photographs and stories that our perspectives of our small planet changed forever. Indeed, their most important legacy may very well be how their work was a catalyst for a profound philosophical transformation, without which Earth Day and most of the modern environmental movement, would never have taken off.

China has over 300 satellites and are sending up more. Russia has more and so does the USA. Several other countries have some too? Pictures of all the pollution encircling earth are really awful or are they just a created scare mongering lie too? Then closer in to earth we have how many jets and planes with way more pollution yes even landings and takeoffs of all these crafts are highly polluting way more so than cars and trucks. Then add on all the ships encircling the world to really pollute our water because everything needs to circle the earth even to be shipped from huge conglomerates with power hungry polluting factories, need I go on? The real big question is who is controlling and who owns the big "pollution's" around the world and on our world and makes trillions also stealing and lying to us people who work for them. These very super ultra rich power hungry radicals cause all of this while blaming us and forcing us to live poor so they can continue living a nightmarish life at our expense and very lives.

WAKE THE HELL UP PEOPLE !! ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF EARTH DAY MURDERED HIS GIRL FREIND AND STUFFED HER BODY IN A TRUNK THEN ESCAPED TO FRANCE AND LIVED THERE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS BEFORE HE WAS ARRESTED AND SENT BACK TO THE USA. YOU EARTH DAY FOLKS JUST WANT THE WORLD TO RETURN TO THE DARK AGES WITH YOU AS THE ELITE KINGS, QUEENS, BARONS, DUKES AND LORDS RULING OVER THE PEASANT AND SERFS.
