Eclipse Mania By Politicians Took Center Stage Yesterday

If yesterday’s overhyped Eclipse of the Sun proved anything—it was that Canadian Parliament is, in essence, one BIG , and not very funny ACT.

How else to explain that politicians on ALL sides of the House left work to stampede outside to look up at the sky like a giddy bunch of school boys, girls and transgender believers?

God’s handiwork is not to be idolized. Solar Eclipse gazing is included in the Creator's warnings to man in these end times:

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Psalm 8:3-4 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Deuteronomy 4:19 Do not gaze toward the heavens and observe the sun, the moon, the stars—the entire array of the sky—with the intent to worship and serve what the LORD your God gave every nation.

Deuteronomy 17:2-3 “If there is found among you, within any of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, a man or woman who does what is evil in the sight of the LORD your God, in transgressing his covenant, and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden.”

Jeremiah 10:2 This is what the LORD says: “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified of them.”

Romans 1:25
“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”(KJV)

Look, religious blather aside, the eclipse (particularly a total solar eclipse) is a rather fascinating thing to see. I did hear on the news this morning that Google reported the number one search item today was "what do I do if my eyes hurt", which makes one wonder how many less-than-intelligent folks were unaware of the "wear special purpose made glasses, not just your Ray Bans" warnings that I have seen and heard nonstop for a week. My efforts to photograph it (yes I do have the 17 stop filter for my lens) was stymied by heavy cloud cover (as apparently was the case for much of the path of totality, so perhaps God was playing with us anyway?).

On the other hand, the funny folks at the Babylon Bee captured a sentiment in their "article":

Luke 21:28
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

1 Thessalonians 5:5

Wouldn’t you know it!? 1 Thessalonians 5 is one of the main Rapture chapters. Those who are not saved by grace alone and thus not awake and watching are in darkness, and these are the ones who will be surprised by the thief in the night. Sudden destruction is what they will experience, “labor pains upon a pregnant woman”. After the Rapture happens, there will certainly be unimaginable confusion and catastrophic consequences. 1 Thessalonians 5 describes the Church as “sons of light and sons of the day“, that we are NOT in darkness so the Day of the Christ (the rapture) ( note: the Day of the Lord is the 7 Year Great Tribulation after the rapture)) will NOT come upon us by surprise. 1 Thess. 5:9 shows us that the Rapture happens BEFORE the Tribulation because, “God did not appoint us to wrath“, and we are to be “comforted” by this fact. It is not so much that the eclipse is a sign since there are no signs for the imminent (any moment) rapture - it is the volume of humanity captivated by the eclipse who will be caught off guard "as a thief which breaks into one's home".
Remedy? not religion, not eclipses .... only Jesus Christ via John 3:3 and John 3:16 Sound too radical for the unbeliever? Just wait and see what is coming.

Well, @Anon (no name at all? why hide it if the world is ending, anyway?)

It's the 10th and nothing has happened. And remember that people have foretold the end every century or so for millennia. In fact, it would seem that the entire concept of "hell" did not exist at all when Jesus was alive, but was brought into Christianity a century or more after he dies to assuage people who saw that, despite living according to the Bible that the sinners were not getting punished.

(who is 'bob F'? give us your true last name, address etc (smile))

World is not going to end and the Word of God never says it will.

Isaiah 45:17
“But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.” KJV

But He will create a new Heaven and a new Earth AFTER the 1000 year millenium (which is ushered in after the Great Tribulation) ... but this is only for those who are saved/born again. The New Heaven and Earth are part of the Eternal state in Eternity.

Isaiah 65:17
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” KJV

Revelation 21:1
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” KJV

Of course, the eclipse is not a sign of the 'end of the world'. There are signs for the Great Tribulation but not for the rapture which is a signless event and imminent (any moment event).

Matthew 25:13
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” KJV

Matthew 24:44
“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” KJV

Luke 17:20
“And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:” KJV

Matthew 24:27
“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” KJV

During the time of Jesus there was no New Testament but only the Old Testament (Torah, Prophets and the Writings). Did it speak about hell? Let's see .....

Psalms 86:13
“For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.” KJV

Deuteronomy 32:22
“For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.” KJV

Psalms 16:10
“For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” KJV

Psalms 139:8
“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.” KJV

So, the Old Testament scriptures (which are all Jesus had in His day) speak about the place you should avoid. How? .... John 3:3 and John 3:16
