Europe and NATO have been asking themselves of late if they can depend on the United States to be there for them in case of attack by a foreign enemy. But the real question is whether we can depend on them to be worthy of our blood and treasure. What we have in common is growing thin. Their freedom is diminishing to a point of being unrecognizable.
