Fake news is the hot button of the week

Fake news is the hot button of the week. It has suddenly become a priority with mainstream and social media to expose fake news. This might prove to be easier said than done. There are levels of deceit in the information we receive. There is the wholly manufactured, the partially manufactured, the mostly true laced with a few misleading gems and the slanted pieces. The solution that Facebook has chosen is probably the best available at present, use several different fact checking organizations. But we must be vigilant to the corruption of those sources. Some people think Snopes is biased, some view Politifact as left leaning, Many seem comfortable with TruthorFiction. I prefer to check multiple sites and to also so a simple search to find the root of the story where possible. It is a sad reality that untruths or half truths have become a part of our news. But reality it is. Be smart and not lazy. Don't perpetuate the problem. Help expose and stop fake news. It is sucking the oxygen out of real news and real issues.
