Thanks to Chuck Schumer and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Americans who lost family members—or friends—to Covid-19 can get cash for their funerals. “Americans who’ve lost family members or friends from COVID-19 can now apply to get up to $9,000 from the government to reimburse them for their loved one’s funeral costs." (Yahoo, April 12, 2021) And according to FEMA, who are running the Covid-related funeral costs program, it takes only a 20-minute telephone call to qualify for the government payout.
