- Ilana Freedman Iran has reached a point of no return. The increasingly violent demonstrations in the streets of Iran's cities are growing larger and louder as Iranians continue to protest the results of a well-orchestrated, fraudulent national election. The outcome of the June 12th elections, was determined long before the Iranian people went to the ballot boxes. Although the final results of the election were not supposed to be announced until Monday, June 15, Ahmadinejad preempted the announcement on the 13th, declaring himself the winner. This was despite the fact that the counting of nearly forty million votes was clearly impossible in such a short time.
