Obviously, everyone remembers the hullabaloo surrounding "the pledge" that the GOP made Donald Trump sign. Trump was forced to promise that he would support the eventual Republican nominee and in return he got... Well, not much really. The GOP elites are still targeting him, they're still trying to come up with a candidate they feel can be properly controlled, and they're still doing everything they can to make sure everyone knows they don't want the guy to be the nominee.
By contrast, Jeb is their dream candidate. He hasn't had to sign any sort of pledge at all. Welcome to CFP’s Comment Section!
