LOUISVILLE, KY – Liberty Counsel has asked the full Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to rehear an appeal in Maryville Baptist Church, et al v. Andy Beshear seeking its “prevailing party” entitlement to attorney’s fees and expenses. In 2020, Maryville Baptist Church and its pastor Dr. Jack Roberts, were granted a preliminary injunction against Governor Andy Beshear for his unconstitutional COVID-19 lockdowns. However, the district court twice denied the church and its pastor prevailing party status despite the appeals court instructing it to award it to them.
