A British artist, renowned for her hunting and shooting paintings, has just finished her latest commission.
Paula Vize from Hampshire has completed a painting of a Border Terrier, entitled Mr Pip.
“The owner commissioned it for his daughter, who is moving abroad,” explains Paula. “My dog portraits are all produced from a meeting in person. That way I do a portrait of the animal concerned rather than simply a dog picture. It is important to get the relationship between owner and animal right. For instance, is it a much loved pet or a working dog? Some relationships are particularly special as with the Hounds for Heroes dogs. You see the softer side of some big farmers within the relationship of man and dog.”The Comment section of online publications is the new front in the ongoing Cancel Culture Battle.
