Five years ago, I wrote to Washington Post and Newsweek journalist Jay Mathews to complain of the IBO Director General's love affair with Jean Jacques Rousseau and his avocation of a "New Social Contract" for international education. I have been labeled a crackpot, a right-wing extremist, a xenophobe, a heretic and a racist for my condemnation of Rousseau's philosophy as something that is "bad" for American education.
