(From the Editor of the CFP: This article was written before Saturday, November 3, 2007, when President Pervez Musharraf declared his "emergency", which has soon become a regular martial law. The media have been curbed by crensorship or direct closure. The Government of Pakistan, now under the military control, closed down or limited the broadcasting of the private TV and radio stations. Journalists can't speak or write freely any more. But this is only a 'transition period' and democracy will finally win in Pakistan.)
