My heroes list, Maine Gov. Paul LePage and First Lady Ann LePage

This couple continues to make my heroes list, Maine Gov. Paul LePage and First Lady Ann LePage. As Governor, LePage receives $70,000. So, he's sure not in it for the money. Now, his wife has taken a summer job as a waitress, reportedly to get a new car. These are people who clearly can relate to the people of Maine, the hardworking fishermen, loggers, blueberry pickers, potato planters and dairy farmers. These are people who don't hold themselves above those they serve. Gov. LePage understands the spirit of government service. He understands the power given to the states by the founders. He challenges the control of Washington DC. For example, the SNAP (Supplimental Nutrition Assistance Program), LePage doesn't believe these funds should be used for candy, soda and other junk foods. He feels that giving people the ability to get these things for free contributes to obesity and diabetes-just to name a few. But the Obama Administration will not issue Maine the necessary waiver to stop the practice. Don't you just wonder how Michele Obama squares that in her brain considering her 8 year campaign for healthy choices?
