As one of the youngest men to serve in the Presidency, Barack Obama stands to benefit the most from his own proposal to increase the retirement pay for Presidents by 18%.
Because the best healthcare money can buy that is afforded our leaders, Obama has the likelihood of a long life after his term as president; very probably 30-40 years. During that time he will earn large speaking fees, book royalties and probably another salary as the CEO of a foundation or as a community organizer. It quickly becomes clear that being the President is more about money and power than about service to country.
It's a gutsy move to propose this increase during this time of political unrest. And it certainly does nothing to reassure the people of his motives.
