Approximately 6000 years ago, the Sahara desert was an area with lush trees, plants, wildlife, people, river systems and 3 huge lakes containing more water than our Great Lakes. Then something happened that altered weather around the world. This affected the Sahara area so quickly that barely 3 generations later, it had forced all the people there to flee away and now it’s the world’s largest desert.
