TORONTO—Despite repeated promises that the Ontario government would usher in a back-to-basics approach to education in the province’s public schools—and reject diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)—the current school curriculum actually increases its focus on DEI, finds a new study released today by the Fraser Institute, an independent, non-partisan Canadian public policy think-tank.
“Rather than reducing or eliminating this type of content, the revamped school curriculum doubles down on DEI,” said Lydia Miljan, senior fellow at the Fraser Institute and author of Analyzing the Ontario Curriculum—How Has It Changed?
