On April 15, 2009, the Las Vegas City Council, under the direction of then-Mayor Oscar Goodman and then-Mayor Pro Tem Gary Reese, approved American Shooters, Inc. as fundraiser to generate $800,000 for the construction of a Veterans Memorial Monument at the closed down Huntridge Circle Park on Maryland Parkway between Charleston and Oakey Blvds. near downtown Las Vegas.
