A petition calling for the protection of women and girls in the Irish dance world has gained over 4,000 signatures after a teenage boy who claims to be a girl won a girls’ Irish dance competition last week.
“While recognizing and celebrating diversity and inclusivity, we believe that maintaining separate categories for transgender individuals and female participants is essential to ensuring fair and equitable competition,” wrote the concerned Irish dance teachers, adjudicates, parents, and dancers who created the petition on December 7. ---More...
