Police find five children wearing only scraps of clothing locked inside an outdoor shed in Utah

Officers were searching for a father on a felony warrant when they found five young children locked in a shed

The kids, ages six, five, four, one, and under one, were partially clothed

The children said they only had a space heater, no blankets. Police said a fire from the heater would have trapped the children with no escape

The mother, 28-year-old Gabriela Salgado-Estrada, had been arrested earlier for retail theft

She 'placed new, unpaid-for items on several of the children.'

'The children then took the tags off of those items, and Gabriela made no attempt to pay for them,' the affidavit added

The father, Wilber Rojas, 36, hid for 30 minutes before police used a bean-bag round to get him out

Rojas was arrested on five counts of child abuse and providing fake identification
