Characteristically both shy and scholarly, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, dead at 95, will be sadly missed not just by Catholics, but by many people of other faiths. My heart flies over many miles this sad morning to ‘The Holy Face’ author Paul Badde in Rome who knew Pope Benedict XVI better than most. ‘The Holy Face’, called Veronica Rediscovered, preserved in Manoppello, Italy, was published by Ignatius Press in 2010.
