VANCOUVER—The cost to buy a new single-detached home in Vancouver averaged nearly five times more than the cost to build it from 2018 to 2025, compared to two times more in Calgary, finds a new study published by the Fraser Institute, an independent, non-partisan Canadian public policy think-tank.
