In the latest twist of remaking Western civilization history, Jorge Pisa Sanchez wrote in National Geographic’s History magazine that “environmental disasters and devastating epidemics triggered the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the late fifth century.” So “plagues and climate change” were the culprits for the fall of the Western Roman Empire.
