Up and Coming Socialists Don’t Even Know what Socialism Is
“There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone has to pay for it.”

The American socialist politicians are promising their voting constituents Free Stuff through such figures as Bernie Sanders, the politician from Vermont whose economic fortunes have improved drastically since he ran for president, and the socialist Cortez from the Bronx who, although she has a degree from a prestigious and very expensive school, does not know anything about Economics or geopolitics, by her own admission, and shows her lack of knowledge every time she opens her mouth.

Smart Growth and Green Growth—It is Not What You Think

Smart Growth and Green Growth
“Global Sustainability requires the deliberate quest of poverty, reduced resource consumption, and set levels of mortality control.”—Professor Maurice King

Progressives (regressives) have been educating (indoctrinating) our American children for decades, inculcating (forcing) ideas such as political correctness (approved speech), globalism (one world government), global warming/climate change (redistribution of wealth), income equality (confiscation of wealth), resistance (anarchy), social justice (reverse discrimination), and tolerance (intolerance).

Welcome Everyone, Take Our Country

Aug 12, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Welcome Everyone, Take Our Country
I remember the curiosity and kindness that greeted me in the southern part of the United States in 1978.  People went out of their way to meet this foreigner to their lands who came from such a far-away country. Many did not know where my country was but they knew it was an Iron Curtain nation where people lived under religious oppression, could not go to church, have a Bible in their homes, or pray. But they could not fathom the exploitation of the soul, body, and mind that my people had to suffer under totalitarian communism.

There was a welcoming committee everywhere I went which made my adaptation to freedom and American life so much easier. I jumped every time there was a knock on the door and my heart raced when I saw a highway patrolman, an officer, or the sheriff. To me, they were not there to help, on the contrary, they were there to oppress just like the police I had experienced in my communist country.

Academic Indoctrination into Fascism, Communism, and Pinkoism

Academic Indoctrination into Fascism, Communism, and Pinkoism
“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” ~ Albert Einstein

The latest main stream media apoplectic vilification of our President focused 24/7 on his meeting with Putin in Helsinki, what he should have done and said to Putin.

People with journalism degrees are suddenly experts at everything.  Although the left’s deranged rhetoric against our President caused irreparable damage to our country, it might be the least of our worries at the moment.

The Sustainable Development Cabal of the United Nations is Meeting Again

Jul 11, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

The Sustainable Development Cabal of the United Nations is Meeting Again
“Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class—involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable.” - Maurice Strong, Secretary General of the U.N. Earth Summit, 1992.

The U.N. Agenda 21 adopted in 1992 and signed by 178 countries has morphed into Agenda 2030 adopted in 2015 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and 169 “specific targets.” As Alex Newman described it, it is a recipe for “global socialism and corporatism/fascism” foisted upon the world by the United Nations.

If I Could Show You What Communism Is

Jul 10, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

If I Could Show You What Communism Is
This is a wake-up call for young and old Americans, wearing Che Guevara t-shirts, Mao’s hammer and sickle t-shirts, holding “I support socialism” posters, and proudly displaying Hillary and Bernie bumper stickers, the ole Bernie who hates capitalism so much that he accepts political donations from evil capitalists, drives expensive cars, and owns and lives in pricey homes most of his supporters cannot afford.

If I could show young people today what communism is, those clamoring for socialism and communism to be brought to American shores,  those who are tired of capitalism because they are so fat and happy, they want the challenge of poverty and want, the challenge of the communist code-speak of “social justice” and “egalitarianism,” I would send them to Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea for a few months so that they could experience first-hand what the utopia they see as paradise is like.

Hysteria, Hate, and Histrionics Defines the Left

Lacking any substance and sinking deeper into the abyss of irrelevance, the Democrat Party’s platform seems to be defined by the cause of defending illegal aliens over Americans, invaders who have broken our laws by crossing the border illegally. Mexican officials and liberals claim that immigration of any kind is a human right.

Going a step further, Democrats are defending MS-13 gang members who have terrorized Salvadorans, robbing and stealing from ordinary citizens who are so scared for their lives, they give them everything they want – clothes, money, chicken, food, and anything else they demand.

Heartbreaking for 1970s Immigrants Saying Goodbye To The America They Once Knew

Heartbreaking for 1970s Immigrants Saying Goodbye To The America They Once Knew
The first Americans I’ve met, Pam and her husband James from Chicago worked with my dad at the refinery.  He was an engineer from a small family and she followed him to this God-forsaken country where everyone seemed to be a prisoner. They appeared friendly in a plastic way, smiling all the time for no apparent reason, totally unconcerned about the misery of the oppressed Romanians around them, barely surviving under communism.

The couple relished their monthly shopping trips—it was their escape from the depressing life around them. They would fly to places in the West that were forbidden to us, Hungary, Austria, and Germany. She would come back each time with expensive gifts for herself and her family. She could not wait to return to the land of plenty, far from “this dirty, drab and awful country where nobody smiles.”

Progressivism Making America Worse

Jun 2, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Progressivism Making America Worse
Americans are bored with their abundant lifestyle.  Western civilization is bored with its wealth, bucolic life, and success.  Academics and Hollywood elites have taken it upon themselves to bring all this success and wealth down a few notches if not to the bottom rung of the prosperity ladder.

They’ve had their fun time in the sun, it is now time for the third world to take over and to teach them how to live, work, and worship the right way. Having just one protected class in America was not enough; we brought in Islam with its clean living and fertility to replace the declining birth rate in the west. Western young women and men are not interested in marriage and reproduction, they want to have fun, and, if it means having it in the street or on reality TV, the more the better for the narcissistic society that we have become.

Cellphone Misadventure – They Track You Anyway

Cellphone Misadventure – They Track You Anyway
I go to the “slug” line, a little busier than usual. I fumble for my iPhone and drop it carelessly in my pocket as a white non-descript SUV pulls up. The driver indicates that I sit behind her, a move against safety protocol. It is a very crowded back bench with a child’s seat and assorted junk stacked high, obviously a rushed attempt at cleaning this morning.  I listen to my usual podcast with my head-set on.

“Slugging” is an organic ride-share around the D.C. suburbs to commute back and forth to the Pentagon and the neighboring office buildings via high-occupancy vehicle lanes without a toll.

How Socialist School Teachers Brainwashed the Snowflake Generation

How Socialist School Teachers Brainwashed the Snowflake Generation
“The universe is made of protons, neutrons, electrons, and morons.”  -  Anonymous

While the left is busy demonizing President Trump for his remarks about the MS-13 gangs who enter our country illegally through the porous southern border, Congressional members, working against the safety interests of the American people and cheered by the leftist media and half of the voting population, are doing their best to stall, defund, and vilify any effort by our president to build a border wall and to deport the illegal criminal elements who are already in this country and have committed atrocious crimes.

Competition and Meritocracy Still the Key for Success

May 17, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Competition and Meritocracy Still the Key for Success
Competition for survival and success are inscribed in our DNA. We are born to compete. Humans who put forth more effort are more likely to succeed. Others are satisfied with less, act accordingly, become followers, and complain bitterly about the eventual outcome and their station in life.

Even animals in the wild compete for survival; some develop special skills that allow them to rule over an area or a pride, and other animals of the same species recognize and yield to their superiority.

But in the human world government, with input from the vaunted halls of academia, has passed laws, imposing societal ascendency based on skin color, ethnicity, and a certain socio-economic background, not necessarily on meritocracy.

My Take on the Teacher of the Year Award

May 6, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

My Take on the Teacher of the Year Award

As a former teacher, I was annoyed but not at all surprised by the choice for this year’s Teacher of the Year Award. The recipient with a political agenda showed the nation what an “exceptional teacher” looks like. With her boorish and rude behavior during the ceremony at the White House, she bashed and disrespected our President in front of the entire nation and in front of school children who look up to teachers like her to be objective. Yet many indoctrinate their students into their twisted political world eight hours a day, not into the American-exceptionalism that they should.

President Trump, exhibiting class and respect, mentioned the “incredible devotion” that has earned her the adoration, total adoration, of her students and colleagues, the school district, community, and the entire state.”

The Soviets’ Inner Wall, One of the Deadliest Border Walls in History

The Soviets’ Inner Wall, One of the Deadliest Border Walls in History
…‘from Stettin on the Baltic to Trieste on the Adriatic, an Iron Curtain has descended over Europe’   – speech made by Winston Churchill in 1946 in Fulton, Missouri

At the end of World War II, the victorious Allies divided Germany from 1945 to 1949 into four sections, each administered by a different allied country, in order to prevent the spread of Nazism (National Socialism).

The Americans, the French, and the British did not take as seriously as the Soviets did the virtual division line between their controlled territories and those controlled by the Soviet Union. People from the western and eastern parts came and went as they pleased, crossing this imaginary border and angering the Soviets who were very partial to their communist ideology and boundaries in the process.

Today’s classroom puts politics first, education last

Today’s classroom puts politics first, education last
If you’ve ever been marginalized by progressives for your conservative views, for your anti-communist teaching philosophy and other divergent opinions, you were not alone.

If you’ve worked in highly progressive academic environments and were not re-hired as adjunct, granted tenure, or were not even considered for tenure unless you belonged to organizations such as the NEA, AFT, or other Democrat-supporting organizations, you were not alone.

Bacon and a Year without Summer

Bacon and a Year without Summer
I’m placing the thickly sliced uncured bacon in the pan and, when it begins to sizzle, the marvelous aroma fills the house. It is a memory from my childhood when Grandma Elena would render bacon fat into lard in her tiny kitchen. It was a preservative for chunks of pork she would seal with wax in glass jars that would feed us for an entire year. It was stored in the cellar, the dank, damp, and constantly cool place. We did not need refrigerators and could not have afforded one anyway.

My dad eventually saved enough money when I was in 12th grade and bought a small refrigerator for our tiny apartment in the city. It was empty most of the time because we did not have food to store. Mom shopped daily and we ate what she purchased, no leftovers. We would cool a watermelon in the fridge in summertime or keep a small glass bottle of milk if we were lucky enough to have found the liter bottles sold in the government-run dairy stores.

Progressivism is Neo-Communism

Apr 14, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Progressivism is Neo-Communism
The obsessed and irrational infatuation of intolerant Millennials with neo-communism they euphemistically call progressivism can be understood when one takes into account academia’s professorial and administrative cadre of communist indoctrinators and the world-wide curricula similar to Common Core, developed with advice, textbooks, and funds from elitist billionaires who want to re-engineer societies around the globe in the borderless and diabolically mish-mashed coexist image of their totalitarian dreams of control.

Karl Marx and Cultural Marxism

Apr 12, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Karl Marx and Cultural Marxism
On May 5, 2018, the Marxists, sponsored by the World Workers Party, will be gearing up in New York to celebrate 200 years since the birth of their communist guru, Karl Marx, the one man whose philosophy had enabled the killing of more innocents than many global wars combined.

The theme is Marx @ 200, the Class Struggle in the Age of Trump. I am not sure what class struggle they are talking about unless it is the constant hateful rhetoric coming from the left and their Democrat Party’s divisive and anti-American platform because Donald Trump won the election and they have not gotten over the devastating loss.

The Progressive-Left Doesn’t Think, It Just Emotes

The Progressive-Left Doesn't Think, It Just Emotes
“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.”   -  George Orwell

I have often wondered how the youth of the world hold in synch same beliefs, education, and outlook about the future of the planet. How can people from such diverse cultures, history, languages, and backgrounds share identical ideas and thoughts? How did they all decide to join the same movement such as #resist? Why are Americans resisting abundance and freedom? Why are they craving communist government oppression?

What are they resisting? Who is funding them? Who is indoctrinating them? Who is paying for their blind allegiance, a cult-like international loyalty and movement not necessarily based on logical thought? It seems that the left does not think but emotes.

HCR ManorCare Bankruptcy and Patients

Mar 9, 2018 — Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

HCR ManorCare Bankruptcy and Patients
One of the largest nursing home chains in the U.S., HCR ManorCare Inc. has filed for bankruptcy protection on March 4, 2018 in the Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware.  Quality Care Properties Inc., HCR’s landlord, will take control of the company.

The private-equity firm Carlyle Group owns HCR ManorCare Inc. The departing CEO, Paul Ormond received $115 million in deferred compensation and severance even though HCR is approximately $230 million in debt.

HCR missed numerous rent payments even though Quality Care Properties Inc. agreed to multiple temporary reductions in such payments. Last August QCP took legal action and sued “to replace the company’s management and to appoint a receiver with the power to collect rent.”
