Home Secretary Out After Scandals Over Windrush Migrants, Deportation Targets, Plan to Surrender to EU on Border Controls
Home Secretary Amber Rudd has resigned from Government.
The liberal-leaning Tory was mired in a scandal concerning the wrongful deportation of so-called ‘Windrush generation’ migrants, who arrived in Britain from the Commonwealth of Nations when they were legally entitled to — possibly as a result of deportation targets which she denied setting but which appeared to have been approved by her.
“I feel it is necessary to [resign] because I inadvertently misled the Home Affairs Select Committee over targets for removal of illegal immigrants during their questions on Windrush,” she wrote in her resignation letter.-- More...
