Why is oil being called a fossil fuel here? It was not to long ago that Canada Free Press had an article that explained why oil is NOT from fossils.
That discovery by Russian & Ukrainian scientists in the 50's is what inspired Russia to become a big player on the world oil stage.
Now, for some reason, I can't find that article. I even have the so called 'great' & 'private' Brave search engine. A few weeks ago I could lad the CFP article no problem.
How would the renewable energy debate/argument change if more people knew that oil IS naturally replenished in the earth? That oil is RENEWABLE?
Canada Free Press is supposed to be for freedom. How this Q is handled here will tell me if that is true. I say that because there seems to be a VERY tight lid on the renewability of oil.

I think those are excellent comments. What you are talking about is abiotic oil. Oil that comes from non-living things. I have asked the question several times of men who have made it their life work to study fossil fuels etc, and to a man they have said it was not likely. But, for me, the fact that t he oil is quite deep caused me to think it was not likely from living animals, and when there is so much of it in certain places that further told me it was possible. I have tried to find a geologist who would know something, but no luck. I want to know the kind of strata in which they are finding oil today. It is pretty marvelous what they do: they go down a mile in the ocean, then drill a mile down, then turn and go a mile horizontally, then inject water and sand to open the strata, and now with fracking we have an abundance of oil.
