I remember reading somewhere a few years back that if all the wealth in the United States was redistributed equally among all citizens, in a very short amount of time, the money would return to the pre-distribution levels. So, with Hillary Clinton's yammering about taxing the wealthy more I was wondering-doesn't the constant printing of money benefit the wealthy to a larger extent that the rest of us? The problem in this country is that the wealth is on the sidelines or in the artificially inflated stock market. If the money was in the hands of the middle class, we would be spending more. If we spend more, business would have a reason to expand, hire people, and energize the economy. As it is, small businesses are running a very tight ship, minimum help, smaller inventory, less remodel or renovation, more tasks being done by owners. The uncertainty and oppressive regulations don't encourage them to be bold or take a risk. And the risk is always on the back of the owner, nobody else. Seems like the Democrats want business people to take all the risk and none of the rewards. It is popular to demonize the wealthy and big business but the truth is, our regulations have created Walmarts, Amazon, Home Depots, and the big pharms. By allowing them to gobble up small businesses we have handed the big guys more of the wealth. In addition, our tax code is written, by the Washington crowd, to benefit the big guys by creating loopholes. This is one of the best arguments against lobbyists and for Donald Trump's call for a reformed and simplified tax code.
