As we've discussed, Donna Brazile's new book is causing something of a civil war within the Democratic Party. OK, fine. "Causing" is probably the wrong word. "Exacerbating" is more accurate. That's because the divisions on the left - between the party's Bernie-loving base and the DNC-elites - have been widening since 2015.
Remember, roughly half the party wanted nothing to do with Hillary's 2016 candidacy. Various Democrat voting blocs see her as either too centrist, to corporate, or too crooked to represent them. Almost without exception, the people in these groups wanted Bernie Sanders to land the nomination. I've made the case that he wouldn't have fared much better than Clinton, but at least his loss would have been an honest one.
