U.S. one of only three countries opposing UN resolution that restricts free speech in order to fight Nazis or something

I wonder how many Americans realize that free speech is not valued around the world like it is here, and that the very idea of free speech as a basic right government cannot restrict is a reasonably new concept in the context of world history. The American left is getting pretty brave at the moment about banning "hate speech" because it sees an opening. It's always been willing but it's never before seemed politically plausible to actually propose it, at least not in America. The rest of the world is a lot more banny about free speech, which is why it's no surprise the UN swung so quickly into this action after Charlottesville. I'd like to think that the U.S. would have opposed this even under a Democrat administration, but I'm not so sure:
