The symptoms of endometriosis, including severe menstrual cramps, painful intercourse, painful urination or bowel movements, and lower back or abdominal pain, take a toll on a woman's emotional health and overall quality of life. Bayer HealthCare announced that Visanne® (2 mg dienogest tablets) was approved by Health Canada for the management of pelvic pain associated with endometriosis. It is the first long-term, oral, progestin-only regimen specifically developed for women with endometriosis in more than 10 years.1
