Daggers of Hate in American Eyes:

What’s Causing Today’s Epidemic Pathology?

Daggers of Hate in American Eyes:
Seeing daggers of hate in Americans eyes used to be a rare phenomenon. Now you can expect to see them daily, sometimes hour after hour, minute by minute. The first time I saw burning hatred, those daggers, in another person’s eyes was in early 1970 when I was finishing the last year of my undergraduate degree. The hate was directed at me, so that glare of sheer loathing stuck with me. Happily, though, a couple decades went by before the next dagger sighting. It was a different place and different eyes, yet also zeroed in on me. Hence, that occurrence was memorable as well.

It's the same reason that less than half of todays youths would be willing to take any action to defend our Country and that my friends is pathetic.

Joe and Marijan: Thank you and I concur with you both. I also appreciated "what the USA has stood for until recently" and it is "pathetic" that less than "half of today's youths" would choose to defend the US or Canada. And mandatory service to our countries post-high school, even if not military service, would make our countries better AND our young people better. But I'm not holding my breath. Thanks again! Ron

Of course, two years of compulsary service wouold help everyone, the individual and the Country. Problem is that there are so few males in the US that could pass the physical requirement, I can attest to this, because it did so much good for me personally. Semper Fi

I'm in total agreement, but those are the exceptons. When I entered Paris Island we had a couple of overweight fella who were later were transferred to what they labeled as "the Fat Men Squad" they remained there for the duration of the 12 weeks of "basic" training. I cannot attest to their outcome.
But, we're here discussing the exceptions, it's nearly impossible to run a country's armed forces on this basis. Our youth, no our popuption as whole is overweight, diets are set against most since they push carbs instead of proteins. The Food Pyramid has been inverted. Fat does not make one fat, it's the Carbs!
