Old dinosaurs–professional politicians, I believe are the problem-- How do we get back to those days when the government worked for America first?

Where Have the Good Guys Gone?

Sitting here in God’s Waiting Room and observing the failures in our government, a thought came floating in the window, “Where have all the good guys gone?” in our US Congress.

Where have those of us who worked together gone? Perhaps, we are all in God’s Waiting Room just watching the clock tick, and worrying about the world our kids and grandkids will have to live and work in.

What follows is an email in answer to that same question that I exchanged with my good friend, Senator Dennis DeConcini, a Democrat from Arizona.

Well the obvious answer is term limits,, but how likely is it a law about that will pass when the people voting on it (or the majority of these dinosaurs) would not want to lose their power?

Term limits in a Constructional Amendment.

Well, people blame all kinds - but the simple fact is money. Lobbying, or payments, gifts, benefits, dinners, secret deals - all should be outlawed. Ask yourself - why is there "career" politicians? Why would you want to "serve" the country? Getting rich? You bet. Take all incentives for them to work - strip their pay, make it illegal to have gifts, contract deals, or even contact by any special group. Strip their special health care and make them ordinary citizens that serve - without pay other than minimum wage - and see how it changes DRASTICALLY. Until you remove their ability to get rich, you are only enforcing legalized mafia behavior. They fight against each other because its their cash cows they want to keep! Not to help the individual, because they are NOT the individual!! They are above us. Force them to go to the market to get health care, benefits, medical, taxes, services and then strip them of their stock dealings, family and friend business deals (what the heck do congress have to do with purchases anyway?) This is just the tip of the problems, but you get it. All other questions are smoke and mirrors. FOLLOW THE MONEY.

The absolute only answer is a Constitutional Convention of States which could (would) pass into law and term limits the delegates could (would) compromise on.

We arrived at this point because YOU compromised. You were sent to Congress to defend the liberty of your constituents, not to find brave new ways to spend our tax money and "fix things". But you clearly lost the plot, and you ended up worrying more about being clever and making friends with people who wanted to take away everyone's liberty and property.

You slipped appropriations into bills under the noses of our elected officials. You bent to the common practice instead of being honest and up-front; you upheld that practice; you passed that practice on to the next generation. You bargained away our liberty bit at a time because "it seemed like a good idea" and you were obsessed with being seen doing, instead of considering the fallout of that doing.

You were in Congress while we had Soviet agents in our government. You were there when the Deep State was in play. You did nothing. You were too busy "getting along" with your nice new friends and congratulating yourself on how mature you were being.

I've seen the articles where you keep calling people "children" because it's come to the brink of civil war--because apparently, we're still supposed to be nice to people who threatened to nuke us if we don't surrender our Second Amendment rights, who all but locked us in our own homes for a year without income or food, who want to stick us full of poison because they CAN, who want to make us live in kennels and eat bugs while they faff about in private jets and mansions while eating lobster. It came to this because YOU COMPROMISED.

Go away, dinosaur. You dropped the ball, you didn't defend America, you have no business trying to tell the rest of us how to manage things. We'll take it from here. We can't do worse than you did--unless we also compromise.

A Convention of the States or a Constitutional Convention is way too dangerous in today's toxic politics.
It has to be term limits by congressional legislation. We need to vote out dinosaurs and bring in young patriots to Congress.
Perhaps a national organization with that goal in mind could be formed.

Compromise is a dirty word. "Death by a thousand lashes".
