Many of you, who have read it, will recognize the title of this article as the opening line in Ayn Rand’s classic novel Atlas Shrugged. As I have been assessing my possessions during my current downsizing move, I ran across my copy of Atlas Shrugged. I originally read it a decade or so ago and was somewhat impressed with what Rand had to say. At that time I thought I got it, but I now recognized I didn’t really get it at all. On my first reading I certainly didn’t fully appreciate, at that time, just how far off the rails our government already was.The Comment section of online publications is the new front in the ongoing Cancel Culture Battle.
