Democrats are trying to accomplish what every other socialist/communist country has done in the past... destroy the middle class, obtain unending power, creating a permanent welfare state, creating total dependence
Thanksgiving reminds us of many things. It tells us of our history, our struggles, our achievements, our God.
The Left, most represented by the Democrat Party, is trying desperately to erase our history and forge a new narrative...one of a negative account of capitalism's failure during the colonial period, and one of socialism, having saved a doomed colony in Massachusetts.
The Left wants us to remember a false narrative about Thanksgiving. Like President Reagan said:
βIt isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.β
The American way was born
The Left teaches our children about the Native Americans and how their inclinations toward collectivism, and socialism saved us from extinction. Even the investors in that voyage of 1620, thinking they could maximize the return on their investment, contracted that all property, harvests, and profit from the voyage be held communally.
By necessity, by survival, it wasn't to be. The Mayflower did not land in Virginia as promised, but because of Atlantic storms landed in what is now Massachusetts, in time to face a harsh winter.
The death and starvation was no respecter of persons. Only 47 of the 102 pilgrims survived the first winter. William Bradford, the Governor of the Plymouth Colony, wrote in his diary the accounts of the healthy men becoming resentful of the women who saw fit to just care for the children. He told of the young, and other men of a less industrious nature all sharing the same fruit of the hard labors of the few. The contentious reality saw the crops begin to wither and die as death and starvation crept in.
By 1623, Bradford and his associates abandoned all socialism in preference to a system of private property.
The American way was born.
Every family was assigned a parcel of land. Families and single adults were planting more than they needed. Women with their young in tow were willingly going into the fields to tend to their crops. Where there was once apparent inability and weakness was now industry and hard work.
This is the Thanksgiving we celebrate
Bradford later wrote:
"Instead of famine, now God gave them plenty...and the face of things was changed to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God....any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day.β
The Pilgrims produced so much they extended an invitation to the friendly Native Americans to join them in their feast of Thanksgiving for their harvest, thanking God for showing them a better way. By 1624, they began exporting food, preparing the foundation for the greatest nation ever conceived by man, blessed of God.
This is the Thanksgiving we celebrate.
We don't deny that Native Americans helped the Pilgrims any way they could, but it was not collectivism that saved them or produced anything near abundance or even adequacy. It was capitalism that produced the harvest of plenty that eventually saved Europe from extinction twice in the 20th century and gave countries like China reason to steal from the nation they want to emulate and now destroy.

Make no mistake...we are in a fight for our existence.
I don't overstate this. If left to themselves to do as they please, the Left, as expressed by today's Democrat Party will destroy this nation. This is no longer politics as usual. These liberals, at least the leadership, know the reality of socialism, but they don't care. They are trying to accomplish what every other socialist/communist country has done in the past... destroy the middle class, obtain unending power over the citizenry while creating a permanent welfare state over the entire population, creating total dependence. They are destroying our economy, our culture, pushing sexual promiscuity, and promoting antipathy for our laws, and our belief in the superiority of God. Look around you. It is that simple.
They have come a long way in their endeavor. They have garnered for themselves already several generations of ignorant young who know little of our history and the benefit of the experience of those who tried something else and failed. They spew illusion as fact, and fact as fallacy.
Make no mistake...we are in a fight for our existence.
