Editor's Note:  Last month, 81-year-old Robert Rosebrock, ‘Unsung, Faithful Hero of Homeless L.A War Veterans’, climbed into a truck with all of his belongings, and with a commercial driver friend, drove some 2,100 miles from Los Angeles to his boyhood Indiana.

The Vietnam era veteran, who is now embarking on an ‘AMERICANISM VERSUS COMMUNISM’ initiative is not only a hero to each and every homeless veteran living on the squalid streets of L.A., but a personal hero to me and thousands of Canada Free Press readers:

“Like an indelible vision of long-gone soldiers that live forever in the memories of their loved ones, Robert Rosebrock has appeared for more than 800 consecutive Sundays and every Memorial Day since March 9, 2008 outside the gates of the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Affairs (GLAVA) park calling public attention to America’s abandoned homeless veterans.

It’s a tragic pic torial of homeless and hungry war veterans coming to peer longingly through the gates at what is rightfully theirs through a wrought iron fence. (Canada Free Press, Feb. 24, 2017)

As feisty in spirit and devoted to war veterans as he has been for most of his adult life, Rosebrock is now working with fellow patriots in the peace of his new Indiana home, on the ‘AMERICANISM VERSUS COMMUNISM’ initiative, in which CFP gladly joins him, knowing at heart that in order to Save America, it is no longer a battle of Right Versus Left, it must be, ’AMERICANISM VERSUS COMMUNISM’.

God bless dedicated, heroic Robert Rosebrock and his friends and supporters who are working to bring America back home again!

MY ESCAPE FROM COMMUNIST CALIFORNIA

For nearly 50 years, I lived in California during its rising “Golden State” glory days of social harmony and individual independence, as well as during its downfall that fundamentally transformed into a divisive, dictatorial, and oppressive state of totalitarianism, otherwise known as Communism.

Consequently, it became apparent that I had to make a choice between living in virtual bondage under California’s one-party rule of Democrat tyranny or escape to the Midwest where I grew up under the patriotic guidance of “In God We Trust,” Truth, Justice, and Honoring our U.S. Constitution and American Flag that Safeguards our Peace, Freedom, and Unparalleled Way of Life, otherwise known as Americanism.

Naturally, I chose Americanism and escaped from Communist California by recently moving back to my home State of Indiana.

Some of you may remember the 1950s when Fidel Castro was fundamentally transforming Cuba’s freedom and democracy into a Communist-ruled dictatorship.

After Castro’s ultimate takeover in 1959, American Citizens believed the United States would be safe from his type of tyranny as numerous neighboring Cuban refugees safely and successfully escaped Communist Cuba to our cherished “Land of The Free.”

On October 27, 1964, five years after Castro’s Communist occupation, Ronald Reagan delivered his nationally televised speech -- “A Time for Choosing” -- on behalf of Republican Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater.

"A Time for Choosing" by Ronald Reagan

Eventually, it became known as “The Speech” because of Mr. Reagan’s profound warnings about the Democrat Party that was intentionally misleading American Citizens toward feel-good Socialism that would inevitably evolve into divisive and oppressive Communism.

Mr. Reagan cautioned that Americans needed to make the right choice between Republican or Democrat if we wanted to maintain living in our nation’s peace and freedom or eventually lose these sacred liberties to the kind of Communist dictatorship that hijacked Cuba.

As always, Ronald Reagan led by example: “I have spent most of my life as a Democrat. I recently have seen fit to follow another course. I believe that the issues confronting us cross party lines. Now, one side in this campaign has been telling us that the issues of this election are the maintenance of peace and prosperity. The line has been used, "We've never had it so good."

Not coincidently, that “line” is the same deception used by today’s Democrat-Socialist-Communist President Joe Biden and California’s Democrat-Socialist-Communist Governor Gavin Newsom, who are both working desperately and diligently to fundamentally transform Americanism into Socialism, and then Communism, all under their blatant lies and propaganda compounded by deceitfully controlling our independence and daily lives.

In his legendary speech, Mr. Reagan went on to proclaim:

“Norman Thomas, six-times candidate for President on the Socialist Party ticket, said, "If Barry Goldwater became President, he would stop the advance of Socialism in the United States." I think that's exactly what he will do. But as a former Democrat, I can tell you Norman Thomas isn't the only man who has drawn this parallel to Socialism with the present administration, because back in 1936, Mr. Democrat himself, Al Smith, the great American, came before the American people and charged that the leadership of his Party was taking the Party of Jefferson, Jackson, and Cleveland down the road under the banners of Marx, Lenin, and Stalin. And he walked away from his Party, and he never returned til the day he died, because to this day, the leadership of that Party has been taking that Party, that honorable Party, down the road in the image of the labor Socialist Party of England.”

Mr. Reagan reinforced his powerful message: “Not too long ago, two friends of mine were talking to a Cuban refugee, a businessman who had escaped from Castro, and in the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, "We don't know how lucky we are." And the Cuban stopped and said, "How lucky you are? I had someplace to escape to." And in that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there's no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.”

In 1968, California was officially nicknamed “The Golden State”

Let there be no misunderstanding, after nearly 60 years from Ronald Reagan’s staunch forewarning and challenging speech, “this last stand on earth” has been progressively declining as there are fewer places to escape to within our “Land of The Free,” while the movement toward oppressive Communism is progressively growing and closing in on us.

On a positive note, three years after Ronald Reagan delivered his eminent speech, he was elected Governor of California, serving from 1967 through 1975.

In 1968, California was officially nicknamed “The Golden State.” This was because of its true American values and high standards that inspired social harmony and individual independence.

Some synonyms that describe the merits of “Golden” are excellent, first-rate, wonderful, superb, optimistic, promising, encouraging, ideal, etc., even though some nefarious naysayers claimed the nickname was based on the discovery of “gold” a century earlier during California’s “gold rush” years.

The definition of “Golden” and “Gold” are not the same, but the same notorious naysayers try to make them appear the same, just as they deceivingly try to make Americanism and Communism appear the same.

In actual perspective, “gold” represents a precious metal of material wealth, and “golden” represents precious virtues of spiritual wealth.

Moreover, let us never forget that it was Ronald Reagan’s legendary two-term American Presidency from 1980 through1988 that prevailed and inspired the support of “Reagan Democrats,” which were predominantly working-class Democrats who rightfully supported and chose to vote -- not for a political Party but for an individual -- who had theirs and our country’s best interests in mind during the 1980 and 1984 Presidential elections.

In the 1984 Presidential election, Ronald Reagan was re-elected to a second term against Democrat Walter Mondale by winning 49 states and garnering 525 electoral votes to Mondale’s 13, and most of those came from his home State of Minnesota, which is also the only state Mondale carried. This was clearly one of the biggest Presidential landslide victories in American history.

Contrary to Castro’s “Cuban Revolution,” America became known as the “Reagan Revolution” because Ronald Reagan appealed to all American voters as he reinforced our individual liberties and prosperity by reversing the failing social and economic agendas set forth under previous Democrat-Socialist Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter.

During the 1980s under Reagan’s Presidency, California was the inspiration and leader of our nation’s “middle class” that helped make America great through united fellowship and loyal patriotism.

Respectfully, California itself became known as “Reagan Country” because Ronald Reagan’s leadership was indeed the epitome of True Americanism.

"Americanism means the virtues of courage, honor, justice, truth, sincerity, and hardihood, the virtues that made America.” – President Theodore Roosevelt.

Today, California has evolved from Republican Reaganism to Democrat Liberalism, to Democrat-Socialism, and now under the secret leadership of Democrats George Soros and Barack Obama, California has fundamentally transformed into a divisive and dictatorial Communist State.

Never forget that 2008-Democrat Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama gave us fair warning on October 30, 2008, in a nationally televised campaign speech declaring his Party’s unilateral and ultimate objective if he is elected: “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”

To underscore the impact of the Democrat’s tyrannical transformation

Nearly 15 years after Obama formally announced the Democrat’s anti-American objective to fundamentally transform our revered United States, his vice-president who is now president -- Democrat-Socialist-Communist Joe Biden -- proudly boasted on August 16, 2023: “Name me a single objective we’ve ever set out to accomplish that we’ve failed on. Name me one, in all of our history. Not one!”

Indisputably, the Democrat Party’s objective to essentially transform America has succeeded with the largest State in the Union – California, which has a population of 39.5 million – by fundamentally transforming its past-history of golden values and high standards that inspired social harmony and individual independence into divisive, oppressive, and dictatorial Communism.

Clearly, the Democrat Party is depending on another past-history of California to staunchly enforce its Communist objective: “As California Goes, So Goes the Rest of the Nation.”

To underscore the impact of the Democrat’s tyrannical transformation, some of the antonyms in opposition to “Golden” are dark, gloomy, dismal, desperate, bleak, etc., which is what California has become and what it is like to live under Communism.

Subsequently, this is causing an exodus of numerous middle-class Americans.

On the other hand, California’s favorable year-around climate continues to attract a multitude of mega-rich foreigners from around the world, led by Communist China. This is compounded by a multitude of poor illegal aliens crossing our border, and together they are squeezing out the principled and patriotic middle-class of American Citizens.

As California continues to lose our older, middle-class True Americans, they are being replaced by younger generations of societal-misfit freeloaders

As California continues to lose our older, middle-class True Americans, they are being replaced by younger generations of societal-misfit freeloaders who do not want to work but want everything given to them by those who do work, as promised by the Democrat-Socialists.

Today, California is rapidly diminishing toward full Communist control under the “secret society” leadership of anti-American tyrant George Soros who supports “defunding our police” while further supporting rampant organized crime and corruption in both our government and society, whereby criminals become the “victim” and the innocent are the “criminals.

This not only jeopardizes the safety and well-being of Californians, but it also jeopardizes the safety and well-being of our nation-at-large, as well as its economy, creating a “lose-lose” situation, which is the unilateral and ultimate objective of Communism.

In Ronald Reagan’s “A Time for Choosing” speech, he clarified his challenge regarding the threat of our nation’s future and well-being with this devout warning: "The Founding Fathers knew a government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing."

Unmistakably, Ronald Reagan’s “A Time for Choosing” message has gone from warning to actuality in the Golden State he once successfully governed and is further advancing within the nation he also once successfully governed.

California residents point to economy as reason more than 40% want to leave the state – “The Washington Examiner” -- June 23, 2023

"Satisfaction with the state economy has dropped 12-points since 2020, including 5-points since last year. Residents are largely dissatisfied with the cost of their healthcare, the amount they pay for their home, and the cost of everyday living expenses (18% satisfied, 81% dissatisfied). The data also suggests that Californians personally feel less financially secure than they did in previous years: only 28% of those in households making $50k-$100k annually report that they can live comfortably and save an adequate amount of money for the future, down from 54% who said the same in early 2020."

“The poll also revealed a major disconnect between conservative and liberal residents of the state, with overwhelmingly negative conservative responses helping to tilt the scale toward dissatisfaction. Roughly 83% of Republican respondents said the state was on the wrong track, nearly four times the number of Democrats.

Nearly sixty years ago, Ronald Reagan appropriately summarized his bold and honest forewarning: "You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream – the maximum of individual freedom consistent with law and order – or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism."

Make no mistake, California has clearly sunk down to the ant heap of totalitarianism, i.e., Communism, and we must now unify as Fellow Americans and fight back to save our nation-at-large.

Watch this brief video by Vietnamese Refugee Hung Cao whose family escaped from Communist Vietnam to America in 1975, as he clearly explains why we must fight back … Now!

While atheist-dictator George Soros continues to destroy Americanism with his Communist-controlled agenda that is dividing and destroying our nation’s belief in God, country, family, self-governance and rule of law, all under Democrat treason and treachery.

Undeniably, George Soros should be morally and legally deported from the United States of America so we can patriotically reform our “Land of the Free” and again become “One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.”

Instead, billionaire Soros continues to traitorously fund far-left Democrat politicians whose sole mission is to destroy former U.S. President Donald Trump through fabricated persecution and prosecution, simply because Trump’s sole mission is to “Make America Great Again.”

Ronald Reagan principally summarized his “A Time for Choosing” speech with this: “We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.”

In sum, “Choose this day whom you will serve.” (God or mammon) - Joshua 24:15

“Back Home Again in Indiana”

After nearly a half-century of California’s topsy-turvy turmoil, it is great to be back in “God’s Country,” the stable and steady Midwest, particularly in Central Indiana on the south-side of Indianapolis where I grew up on our family farm and together, we grew fresh produce, which included five large greenhouses that enabled us to continue growing fresh vegetables throughout the cold winter months.

Back then, the entire neighboring communities were built upon “God, America, Family,” which is still predominate today.

Unlike Los Angeles where you rarely see a Church, the neighboring communities all have several respective Churches.

Unlike Los Angeles, neighboring communities here proudly display the American Flag alongside their main streets in addition to most of the homes also proudly displaying “Old Glory” on flag poles in their front yards or hanging from their front porches.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that with a variety of personalized Indiana license plates to choose from, the majority of vehicle owners have chosen a license plate that has the background of our American Flag along with “In God We Trust”.

The county of Los Angeles has 10 million people. Compare this to the entire state of Indiana that has 6.7 million. While many of the 39.5 million residents living in California are from another state or country, the majority of residents living in Indiana were born, raised and lived here throughout their entire lives as “Fellow Americans.”

The above notwithstanding, I’ve barely touched the surface on all that distinguishes Indiana from California.

Most importantly, I hardly miss anything about California while mostly treasuring everything about Indiana, plus I am now looking forward to “real climate change” -- Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.

In brief, there’s a big difference between Indiana and California.

There’s also a big difference between Republican and Democrat.

There’s a bigger difference between Americanism and Communism.

Summarily, the upcoming 2024 election will not be a time for choosing between Republican or Democrat but between Americanism or Communism.

Choose wisely or it could be the last time you have a choice.

God Bless The United States of America.
