83 Pro-Life Groups Urge Attorney General Todd Blanche to Stop Mail-Order Abortions

The letter also cites polls finding 7 in 10 voters support in-person dispensing, with one third of GOP primary voters less enthusiastic to vote and volunteer if the party abandons pro-life policies

A coalition of 83 state and national pro-life groups, led by SBA Pro-life America, sent a letter to Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche urging the Department of Justice to resolve the Louisiana v. FDA lawsuit by agreeing to a court-ordered consent decree that would get abortion drugs out of the mail immediately while the FDA completes a prompt, rigorous safety review.

The DOJ now opposes Louisiana’s and abortion drug coercion survivor Rosalie Markezich’s request to expedite the case. The letter highlights Markezich’s testimony stating, “If mail-order abortion wasn’t a thing, I’m 100% sure I would have my child.”

The letter comes as Blanche is scheduled to appear for a confirmation hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 15 for consideration of his nomination by President Trump to serve as attorney general. U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), a member of the committee, has also called on Blanche to settle the case.

Tell Your Senators Planned Parenthood Must be Defunded Again

As Americans prepare to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary on Independence Day, pro-life leader Frank Pavone is urging Congress to defund Planned Parenthood again.

Pavone is calling on Congress to renew a prohibition on Medicaid funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business and the abortion industry before the ban expires on Independence Day.

Pavone, director of Priests for Life, said Americans will celebrate July 4 with gratitude and joy. But he noted that it is also the day when, according to law, the prohibition on the Medicaid funding of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry expires. ---More...

Data Shows About 2% of Babies Survive the Abortion Pill

Public debate on abortion often centers on a single moment, while the events before and after, including long-term consequences, receive little-to-no attention. To address this gap, I presented the Abortion Survivors Network’s research at the 55th Annual National Right to Life Conference June 10th in Arlington, Virginia.

In my presentation, “Survivors. Stories. Strength,” I discussed a rarely addressed topic: the continuum of abortion procedures that do not go as intended. This includes failed abortions resulting in live births; incomplete abortions; reversed abortions through progesterone; and abortion pill failures. The urgency of the last category is more important than ever, as medication abortion — the “abortion pill” — now accounts for roughly two-thirds of all abortions in the United States and growing (Guttmacher Institute, 2023).

Medication abortion has its own failure rates: 1 to 3 percent when mifepristone and misoprostol are used within 49 days, increasing to 3 to 5 percent at 50 to 56 days, and up to 4 to 10 percent when misoprostol is used alone (Dal Pizzol et al., 2006). ---More...

Grace Could Have Easily Been Aborted, But She’s Glad Her Mom Chose Life

Grace Da’Nice Glass is expressing gratitude that her mother chose to give her life rather than pursue an abortion, even though the circumstances of her conception fit the category abortion advocates frequently describe as a difficult or “hard case.”

In an essay published on American Thinker to mark the fourth anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Glass recounted being conceived in adultery.

Her father was married, and his wife was approximately eight months pregnant with their son at the time. Her mother, a Black woman already raising five children with limited financial resources, was recovering from crack cocaine addiction.

Grace’s father, who also had a history of addiction, had founded Starlite Drug Rehabilitation Center in Cocoa, Florida, where the couple met while he worked as a counselor helping others in recovery. ---More...

26-Week-Premature Baby Heads Home From the Hospital

A baby girl born at just 26 weeks gestation and weighing less than 2lbs has defied the odds after surviving multiple life-threatening complications and spending months in intensive care.

Baby Rosemary was born unexpectedly while her family was on holiday. “I went into pre-term labour at 26 weeks and had to have an emergency C-section”, her mother, Brooklynn, recalled. “And Rosemary was here”.

At birth, baby Rosemary weighed just under 2lbs. “You could see through her skin. They said the outcome wasn’t going to be very positive”, Brooklynn remembered. Her father, Jeff, reflected: “She was tiny. And she’d fit in the palm of my hand. But she was actually a beautiful baby”.

As Rosemary’s condition worsened, her parents were told there was little reason for hope. “As the weeks were going on, things just kept declining. I did not see hope for her”, Jeff said. ---More...
