A clear and present danger

The President says Al Qaeda is "a shell of its former self" so we are not in danger from them. Whether we face dangers from those breaching our borders is debatable. That is only because there are enough home grown terrorists so there is no necessity of importing the danger.

The American people must understand that there is still a clear and present danger and that it might be more difficult to identify a radicalized individual living legally within our borders than it would be to track someone here on a visa or worse yet with no means of tracking. While the President is touting the end of a war, the reality is that the war and the enemy may very well be closer than ever. It is easy to spin any story to fit your agenda. It is our job as citizens to separate the spin from the danger. There is plenty of both. Mrs. Carolyn M. Brown
