Dear Gary Goodyear, Member of Parliament for Cambridge, Ontario:
I am puzzled by the rejection reported here by the Auditor General, requesting audit of the half a billion dollars in expenses MPs and Senators incur.
I am puzzled, because we, the people, individuals, families and businesses at any level, are forced into being audited by the government every single year, when not more than once a year, because, we’ve been told, we are dealing with people’s trust.
You, being one of the so called Member of Parliament, in my case, my representative before the government, although part of it; claim for a right to a blank cheque from me while I keep being confiscated a very good portion of my hard earned salary just because you DO NOT TRUST ME to pay taxes at the end of the year or at least after the miserable life we have to deal with day in and day out, is reconciled. While a significant part of the price of fuel I need to operate a vehicle is made of taxes. While upon every transaction, still more is asked to be paid as taxes, while many more taxes are being added over and over again artificially raising the cost of goods and services, all of the above strangling our ability to prosper.
Mine is probably one of the simpler cases, but I am sure there are many out there that because the hardness and ruthlessness of the taxation mechanics, upon facing the uncertainty of having lost their jobs, even temporarily, or many other unpredictable situation in life, do not enjoy bailouts, only collectors that want to AUDIT them and even bankruptcies where they will be AUDITED to death, and taxes will be the first taken from the left over in their lives, because NOBODY TRUST THEM and love from friends and family will be QUESTIONED because of the risk of any of them daring bailing them out.
Yet, MPs and Senators have the nerve to reject from the office we supposedly TRUST, their request, on behalf of the people, the ability to audit the expenses that you supposedly incur ONLY on behalf of serving us and we are support to TRUST YOU ON THIS ONE, never ever on going out of line or for your own benefit.
From the lowest level of employment to the highest one, EVERYONE needs sooner or later to report on their expenses when and if incurred on duty, otherwise it constitute fraud, theft, or many other things, all out of the law.
But you are the ‘servants’ that make the law! And of course in this YOU ARE TOGETHER and we are just supposed to pay and keep paying.
I really wish the people of this country finally get to realize the type of ‘safety net’ that has been built and for whom; because it is not for the people, as we the people, have to pay and have to work and have to sit back and stay put and just observe, how our families are being destroyed and children killed and eventually our elders too, while our representatives, enjoy juice pensions and unaccountable expenses.
I really hope that we the people come the next election throw all of you out, ridding ourselves of this establishment that keep eating us alive while denying us a country, free and great, under God.
