A New Conservative American Party is Needed

Richard Viguerie’s Conservative HQ online website on March 20, 2009 sprouted out appropriately on the first day of Spring in his blog saying, “It’s obvious that conservatives have a GOP problem” and he suggested that “the conservative movement… must begin to think of itself as a Third Force in American politics rather than as an appendage to the Republican Party.”

That statement and the following were excerpted from his 2006 book, 'Conservatives Betrayed': “When you look at third party efforts on the Right, whether of the Libertarian Party or Constitution Party variety, you can perhaps agree with their platforms and principles more than with those of the Republican Party – but as minority parties they have next to zero influence on national policy” I couldn’t agree more with Mr. Viguerie. In fact, I was so moved by them as to write the following as a comment at the end of his article: Conservatives MUST unite as one compelling force in order to see America regain the goodness and greatness it has lost in recent years. We have got to find amid our ranks one person capable of bringing all Americans of conservative nature together and appeal to the others of conservative mind to join with us in ONE strong party to not only regain America but to rid this country of anti-American and anti-Christian big government, high tax thinkers. We MUST create a new name such as Conservative American Party, a new name and a new beginning, known as C.A.P. to signal that we intend to put a CAP on government and make it smaller, leaner and stronger. We MUST put a CAP on taxes and wild, uncontrolled spending, yet provide for the necessary protection of all Americans through strength in military and homeland security. We MUST send the message that we are Pro-Life, Pro-freedom, Pro-USA, Pro-Christian, Pro-Israel, Pro-family, Pro-traditional marriage, Pro-free market capitalism, Pro-war on terror and Islamo-fascism not only here but anywhere it exists; Pro-military as well as protection within our homeland, particularly at our borders. We MUST show that we are AGAINST: BIG government, BIG taxes, Socialism, state-owned or state-run media or banks and businesses, state controls on legal gun ownership, and most of all, the left-wing school of liberalism/Marxism. Anyone who can not uphold those standards of governance and personal conduct including RINO’s, would not be welcome members of the Conservative American Party. Let the leaders make themselves known, Palin, Sanford, Romney, Jindal, DeMint, Pence, et al, and the party will choose one of them to lead our new Party to victory at the soonest election. What conservatives need to do is sit down with members of the Libertarian and Constitution parties and consider that we are all in basic agreement with our individual goals, differing only slightly, and come together as one big strong unified party for the good of the country and not for any one individual or group. We must return America to greatness and together it can be done. Conservatives from all other parties (Hello Dem Blue Dogs) would be more inclined to move to a new party with a new name and a new beginning with consolidated conservative ideals and objectives that benefit the country as our founders imagined it and not the way the socio/liberal/Marxist left wingers are trying to force it. If you agree, write or call your favorite conservative, whether it be one on those named a few paragraphs above, or another that you think would be capable of bringing together this force that could reclaim our country from sure disaster at the hands of leftist destroyers and make known your desires for a new beginning with a new party with all new leaders. But let’s get something going soon before the leftists in charge of drowning us all in a sea of red ink and indebtedness for unknown numbers of generations get any more of a chance to do it.
