A well placed nugget of “information”

As I write this, the outcome of the latest terror threat and closing of embassies remains an open issue.

Or does it? We are reacting to the rumor, and by doing so, the terrorists have won. It no longer takes an action to send the world into high alert. It simply takes a well placed nugget of "information". Here is the really bad part of the situation. As American, we don't trust that the information merits the reaction. We don't know if it is being exaggerated to distract us. Worse, could it be a tactic to justify surveillance, via data mining, on all of us. Or is it all of the above or none of the above? Our foreign relations are a shambles. It is now obvious that Al Qaeda is alive and well. It is unsafe for Americans to be in many (if not most) Muslim countries. Our failure to secure our borders leaves us vulnerable here at home. A fanatical following of this President by "low information" citizens, manipulation of news by the media, and government failure to acknowledge the truth of such things as Fast and Furious and Benghazi leave us a shell of our former selves. We will continue to be reacting to news, real or not, that benefits the agenda of the government. Instead of embracing the Muslim religion and encouraging its dominance in our country, we need to admit the danger from it. Virginia Sparks
