The registry has put a huge wedge between law abiding gun owners, who formerly were the biggest supporters of law and order, and the police.

Alberta alone in opposition to gun registry

Perhaps the reason Alberta is the only province that shows a majority favor getting rid of the dangerous, error riddled, grossly incomplete, and privacy-invading gun registry, which attacks only those of us who have complied, is because of news outlets such as the Calgary Herald which generally practices balanced reporting. The Herald does not seem to be biased one way or the other, as much of the Eastern Liberal controlled media exhibits.

Consider that it has not been reported that a huge survey of front line police showed that over 92% favored killing the dangerous registry. It is ONLY the political police associations such as the chiefs, and even they are not unanimous, who support the registry because it puts huge amounts of money in their coffers. See what hundreds of police have said about the registry here. It is extremely educational and informative. Most senior officers have to train their charges NOT to use the registry. As the officer who did the police survey stated: “I cannot now be promoted” because the chiefs and RCMP bosses have told their officers by threat to “keep their opinions on the gun registry to themselves.” Rather frightening, is it not? The registry targets ONLY the law abiding, who by definition are not a problem. Yet it is easily proven by using the Liberal’s own statistics on gun ownership and acquisition, that there are fewer than 30% of legally (prior to C-68 laws) owned firearms that have been registered, and as many as five million formerly legal gun owners who have refused to be licensed. Criminals are not required to register and therefore any officers depending on the severely flawed data are putting their lives on the line. The registry may already have cost some officers their lives by lowering their guard when an address check shows “no guns present.” How ridiculous that is for an officer on a call. Regrettably the registry has put a huge wedge between law abiding gun owners, who formerly were the biggest supporters of law and order, and the police. Now lawful gun owners fear the “visit” by police that used to be welcomed by an invitation to stop for a chat and a beverage. Yet for over two billion in costs and continuing costs in the tens of millions annually, not ONE SINGLE case of the registry PREVENTING a crime has been shown.
