This is the second in this series to review America’s history as I strive for a better understanding of why America and Canada are facing the trials and tribulation of 2026. Fair warning, my direct approach at times may seem to be harsh, but I am confident CFP/AFP readers can handle the unvarnished truth as I see it. In Part 1, I laid out how western civilization came to pass. In Part 2, I will discuss the slippery slope western civilization is experiencing.
“No good deed goes unpunished.” ~ Ancient idiom
"A lie doesn't become truth, wrong doesn't become right and evil doesn't become good just because it's accepted by a majority"~ Booker T. Washington
In 1848, two German philosophers, Karl Marx and Friedrick Engels, developed a theoretical form of society that was classless. The result was the Communist Manifesto, which theorized that human beings could bind together in a collective manner to exist where everyone worked equally hard and then shared equally in the product of that work. Sadly, there was one major flaw in that theory; it would require perfect human beings, and the only perfect human being, Jesus Christ, died 1,800 years before they birthed their theory. Human beings have never been perfect, but some are incredibly industrious. Some people are incredibly lazy, and some people will simply lie, cheat, and steal rather than contribute. Most people fall somewhere between the extremes. Wherever Marxism (aka communism, socialism, collectivism, progressivism) has been tried it has failed due to the above-mentioned human foibles. What does happen is that some form of totalitarian government gains control, and the “classless system” become a two-class system with a small rich class of elites controlling the other class of the masses, who are universally poor.
"The whole gospel of Karl Marx can be summed up in a single sentence: Hate the man who is better off than you are. Never under any circumstances admit that his success may be due to his own efforts, to the productive contribution he has made to the whole community. Always attribute his success to the exploitation, the cheating, the more or less open robbery of others. Never under any circumstances admit that your own failure may be owing to your own weakness, or that the failure of anyone else may be due to his own defects--his laziness, incompetence, improvidence, or stupidity." ~ Henry Hazlitt
"It is impossible to govern the world without God. It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits and humbly implore his protection and favor." ~ George Washington
The first Christian European nation to fall was Imperial Russia, which in 1917 became Soviet Russia. After Vladimir Lenin died in 1924, and Joesph Stalin assumed control of the now Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), he declined to leave the nations where the Red Army kicked out the Germans during World War II. This created the post WWII Cold War and the Iron Curtain. When the Cold War finally ended in 1990, Poland, Rumania, and Czechoslovakia chose to abandon communism. They understood that George Washington was right.
However, Marxism began to get an initial toehold in Europe and North America in the early 1920s. In America, communism was rejected and communism went underground as “progressivism” under the cloak of America’s Democrat Party. During the administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the communist toehold morphed into a foothold as a result of Roosevelt’s “progressive” adjustments to the federal government prior to and during WWII. Marxism (communism) took a hit during the 1950s with the McCarthy Hearings regarding communism in America. However, Nikita Khrushchev warned America of the communist plans to convert America to a Marxist (socialist) country. The plan was simple; they would begin by converting the children through the public education system. Communism plays the long game.
Then by 1979, the Islamists entered the picture when the Theocratic Regime in Iran committed an act of war against the United States of America when they took over the American Embassy and made prisoners out of U.S. Embassy employees. For more than 40 years, Iranians have been threatening to destroy America and Israel without the capability to accomplishing that goal. As we now know, by 2026 the Iranians achieved the means to carry out their threats against America, and President Donald Trump has taken action to end that threat.
Meanwhile, in 2008 America elected the first Black President Barack Hussein Obama, a man who told America that he had plans to “Fundamentally Transform America.” As it turned out, the change he had in mind was to destroy traditional America and the United States Constitution. This “progressive Democrat” also turned out to be America’s first Islamist President, by his own admission about his Muslim religion, and the first President who came out of the Democrat closet as a socialist.
Both were reenforced during his “third term” as president while he operated behind the curtain of the Biden-Harris-autopen administration. Since 2021 when Biden and Harris were installed in the White House, many former Democrats have come out of the closet as socialists, and some have represented themselves as Democratic Socialists of America. The operative word is socialists.
While this was going on in America, America’s neighbors to the north, Canada was tricked into electing a Marxist (socialist/communist) government which Canadian voters have now completely lost control of. The elitist ruling class is following the typical communist playbook and gradually turning the average Canadian into “the universally poor,” like every other communist country has always done.
While in America, the 1950s Marxist plan voiced by Khrushchev has worked reasonably well. In 2026, nearly 33% of American voters were turned into socialist drones who believe the socialist mantra that America’s capitalism and free markets are bad and socialism is good. These socialist useful idiots elected Democratic Socialists of America mayors in at least New York City, Seattle and Washington. Some members of the United States Congress are now openly supporting socialist programs, anti-American programs and violent protests. Worse yet, some members of the U.S. Congress have voiced support for the Iranian Theocracy that has been chanting “death to America” for almost 50 years.
“Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom, and then lost it, have never known it again.” ~ Ronald Reagan
Canada is in serious, serious trouble. America is on the cusp of the same kind of trouble and is only one presidential election away from the troubles Canadians are already experiencing. Part 3 of this series will delve into “the good deeds” that are now being punished.
