Americans have spoken. Under our system of electoral voting, President Obama has been reelected.

It is a fact we will live with for four years. We will hear analysis ad nauseam of the whys. The why or even the how really doesn't matter except perhaps to future strategists. There are those who believe that this country is losing its Constitutional principles, its moral compass, its military superiority and in financial sovereignty. There are those of us who believe government is too big, that people are too dependent, that the system is broken. But, the election showed that those who believe government is the answer have now out numbered us. It is up to us to decide what direction we will take as individuals. It would seem prudent to prepare for all the problems that come with further financial decline, more unemployment, higher utility prices, higher taxes and significant changes to the cost and quality of healthcare. The only conclusion one can reach is that we are not hurting bad enough yet. Perhaps there will be a miracle where the President decides to work with Republicans, that he will see America for what she was, not as he wants her to be, that he will heed the messages of the people. But all I hear are more hollow promises by a man who has yet to deliver on those from his first campaign. God Bless America. John Land
